back from europe. its weird, after planning and thinking about that whole trip for long, for it to be over. i have to say, i think it was perfect. london kicked ass, emma was awesome, i LOVED the tate, the theatre show, pubbing, really good indian food, high tea, etc. paris was so beautiful, and somehow we managed the louvre, d'orsay, champs-elysees, arc de triomphe, notre dame, ile st. louis, etc, and still have time to wander around and sorta get a feel for the city. our neighborhood was perfect, i loved just walking around the rue mouffetard. the jewish area was cool too, rue de rosiers. i love that i even know what these places are now, they're not just names on a map. the best was my few french interactions, when i could converse in french without sounding utterly incompetent/american. and damn do they have some good wine. ohhh yeah the food. start the day with cafe creme and a warm croissant, then maybe a croque monsieur or quiche epinard. gab and i regularly snacked around five on crepes or cheese so we could hold out for dinner at nine. yeah, i'm pretty much a heifer. moo.

meanwhile, missing jude terribly, just tried to call to no avail, and i think she's leaving tomorrow for charleston. shit. thinking about joyce a lot too. she called while i was in ny and i was so happy to hear from her. kinda worried that we'll not be as close next year, it seems kinda inevitable. but joyce means a lot to me, i care about her. i really can't imagine my first year at rice without her. just gotta remember that.

i am no longer a freshman.

it's really kinda funny, like i think of everything that i did, all the amazing shit that happened during my first year of college, and i'm giddy, i get such a kick out of it. it was everything i could have possibly expected and more. it was amazing. and i'm sitting here, just thinking how far i've come, like i look at myself a year ago and i'm like, who WAS i? and i know in a year i'll probably look back and say the same thing, but really i think that's just progress, and for now i just feel like i've come such a long way, i have such a better understanding of myself and what i want, i feel so damn mature. i'm sure it won't last long.

for sure i'm over all of this boy nonsense, like all of them, at least for the summer anyway. its nice too, cause for those of you that haven't noticed, boys are such a fucking pain in the ass. and sometimes there's just nothing you can do about it, you're obsessed, they're all you can think about, its awful and wonderful and well, shit, whattaya gonna do? but i'm sooo not interested right now and its such a power trip, like i'll walk and see these guys and i'm like wow, i have no interest in you AT ALL. uh buh bye.

so yeah, it's summer. i have absolutely nothing to do and i love it. heading off to ny in a few days, then london and paris. somebody pinch me. and then interlochen and maine, i'm gonna practice my ass off and get really good and impress everybody, and also read and write and learn guitar and read some more and eat lobster, yum.

am missing judith very much, and houston in general. to be expected, tho. peace out! especially in the middle east.
